I found this article refreshingly challenging. Yes I am sure I have heard or read similar articles before, however seeing 'your' steps, in particular of adjusting your perspective on change, and the obvious need to begin with belief and commitment for what you desire from life have arrived at a good time for me. Whilst 2009 is two-thirds through it encourages and motivates me to take action quickly on my inner world and not leave it until next year! Thank you for your well written and timely article.

Shelley,

Great blog post. You are so right about forgetting all the good moments when we are "stuck in the muck" of the bad. Thanks for the reminder. Sounds like you are offering your clients a true gift with that advice.

Best regards,

Lisa C.
These were incredible stories! I will definitely keep both of those stories in mind whenever I think about complaining. In order to even begin the recovery process of divorce you have to accept your new life. Things will never be the same. I use to think that if my life was different than the life I had before, it meant that my life was worse. When I started to heal I realized that life could be awesome again after divorce. I accepted that my new life was different, but could finally see that different was a good thing. The divorce allowed me to grow in ways I never would have as a married woman. Yes, divorce is horrible! But the amazing changes in me, because of the divorce, are reason to celebrate!

Dear Shelley:

We will meet next week, but already I know we have a lot in common. Your words have brought tears to my eyes. I lost my father when I was 22, and my husband just lost his this past winter, along with a lot of other family issues to deal with simultaneously. We have a lot to talk about - reading your words gave me an idea for a project I am working on - remind me to talk to you about it.

Risa

Shelley,
I LOVED the messy bedroom blog. How true.
I sorta wished i hadn't revisited your Dad's eulogy again (I heard it live from you the first time!).
Getting misty twice for the same stuff is somewhere between redundant and weak.
Thx.
CDW

I was feeling low and confused today as I am in limbo until my ex-husband and I resolve our finances then I will apply for my decree absolute. After googling I came accross your site and it gave me some peace for a while. I will store it for another day when I feel low. Thanks

Shelley, I'm so impressed with NJ for having a clean energy program that residents can subscribe to. I don't think we have that yet in Ca but I'll check now. This is revolutionary. Also, I wanted to reiterate that fluorescents have come a long way even from the curly design some people don't like. GE has recently come out with a bulb that looks like a traditional incandescent or even the decorative sphere shape for fixtures that use exposed bulbs. I was blown away by the great quality of WARM light that they give off. I also actually really like how they fad to come on. It is a softer start compared to the annoying flickering people associate with fluorescents. This is well received in the mornings when you turn on your bathroom light to help your eyes adjust. You should be able to buy these at any hardware store by now. Enjoy!
